Running Time: 1 hours and 55 minutes (including intermission)
This zarzuela scored an immediate triumph when it premiered in Madrid, and it has been dear to the hearts of many Spaniards ever since 1926.
The operetta is set in Seville and tells the story of a wealthy young man arrives in the city seeking adventure. He meets a group of gypsies, including the beautiful singer and becomes enamored with her. However, complications arise and their love is tested by social barriers and misunderstandings.
"El huésped del Sevillano" is celebrated for its lively and melodious music, which blends traditional Spanish folk elements with operatic grandeur. Guerrero's score features catchy tunes, rhythmic dances, and passionate arias that capture the essence of Spanish culture and romance.
