Sebastien Belcourt
Count Boni Káncsiánu
Czardas Princess
A Toronto-based baritone described as “one to watch” (Ludwig Van Toronto), Sebastien Belcourt showcased “sensitive acting skills, his command of physical comedy and his full baritone voice” as Giuseppe in Toronto Operetta Theatre’s The Gondoliers (OperaCanada). As Count Boni Kancsianu, this is his most highly placed vocal role to date! His recent roles include John in Menotti’s The Consul (OBR). Prince Populescu in Countess Maritza, Ruder/Count Von Mark in The Student Prince (TOT), The Pirate King in TOT’s Pirates of Penzance, Count Almaviva in Opera by Request’s Le Nozze Di Figaro, and Don Giovanni in SOLT’s Don Giovanni. He started off this Christmas season as soloist in a well received production of The Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach in St. Paul’s Anglican in Uxbridge.
