“Triple-threat ... coloratura” (OperaCanada) Maeve Palmer is an alumna of the Rebanks Family Fellowship and the University of Toronto Opera School. Maeve is a prize winner of the 2021 Jim and Charlotte Norcop Prize in Song (UofT), a prize winner of the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition, and a Dora award winner. She has performed with Tapestry Opera, New Music Concerts, Continuum Contemporary Music, and Opera Atelier. Her voice can be heard in the Hollywood film The Space Between Us.
This season, Maeve stars in the leading role in Kalman’s The Gypsy Princess with Toronto Operetta Theatre. Recent operatic roles include Lydia, The Handmaid’s Tale (Banff Centre), Adina, L’Elisir d’Amore (Highlands Opera Studio), and Adele, Die Fledermaus in Concert with Stratford Symphony Orchestra.
In 2025, Maeve debuts with Mandle Philharmonic in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at Koerner Hall, and Messiah with St. James Cathedral Choir and Orchestra.
In addition to her work in early and contemporary music, Maeve is an interpreter of many classic roles including Susanna(Le Nozze di Figaro) with U of T Opera, Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Highlands Opera Studio, Zerlina (Don Giovanni),and Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte).
A passionate scholar, Maeve recently finished her doctorate in Voice Pedagogy and Vocology at UofT as a Massey College Junior Fellow.
