Holly Chaplin is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano from Toronto. Holly's musical passion was fostered early when she joined the High Park Choirs of Toronto. She also studied piano and played the cello in her high school orchestra. Studying under Stephanie Bogle at York University, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Voice performance with honors. She now studies with Frederique Vezina. Holly was the recipient of the 2019 Stuart Hamilton Memorial Foundation Award, and in 2022 she won an encouragement award from the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition. Recent roles include Gilda in Rigoletto, Violetta in La Traviata, Marchesa di Poggio in Il Finto Stanislao/Giorni di Regni and Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore. Holly will debut two roles in 2025; Lucia in Lucia di lammermoor with Southern Ontario Lyric Opera, and Isabelle in Robert le Diable with Opera in Concert. Holly wants to thank family, friends and colleagues for their endless love and support.
